Victoria Quay
Victoria Quay Nursery is a workplace nursery for Scottish Government employees. Located within the Scottish Government building at Victoria Quay the nursery is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide 37 full day equivalent places for children aged 0-5 years. Our opening hours are 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday excluding public holidays and other Scottish Government closures. Full and part time sessions are available and parents can chose the number and type of sessions they require e.g. morning or afternoon only sessions, full day sessions across part of or the whole week.
Our Playrooms
The nursery consists of the following three separate, but linked, playrooms:-
An extensive range of play opportunities are on offer every day for all the children, including outdoor play in our garden area.
Play environments and activities are carefully planned by our well-trained staff team to promote children’s curiosity and creativity. Regular outings and extra-curricular activities programmes provide further opportunities for exploration, investigation and learning. All children are assigned a keyworker who meets with parents on a regular basis to discuss their child’s progress in the nursery. As a partner provider nursery we work with the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver early learning and childcare hours for eligible 3-5 year olds.
We provide healthy snacks for children in the morning and afternoons each day. Children can either bring their own packed lunch or we can provide a light lunch for an additional charge. The lunches we provide are cooked by our chef in our nursery at Ferry Road Avenue and are transported to Victoria Quay. We have a small kitchen in the nursery where our staff prepare and serves up all of the children’s lunches.
