Our nursery playrooms, named Robins, Puffins and Penguins are based within our purpose built centre and are all fully equipped to enhance your child’s development.  We understand that for babies and young children, care and learning are not two separate things.  Provisions made for the youngest children attending our nursery are therefore in line with the Birth to Three Curriculum and take full account of children’s individual needs.   As a partner provider with the City of Edinburgh’s Children and Families’ Department, we also deliver an educational programme for 3-5 year olds based on A Curriculum for Excellence that is designed to enable children to develop their capacities as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

An extensive range of play opportunities are on offer every day to provide stimulation and enjoyment for all of the children.  The playroom environments and activity programmes are carefully planned by our well-trained staff team to ensure that children are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace.  Our indoor hall provides plenty of room for physical activities including fun in our soft play equipment.  All of the children also have access to fully equipped enclosed garden areas where they can play safely in the fresh air and try their hand at gardening.

We are registered with the Care Commission to provide care for up to a maximum of 55 children aged from 4 months-5 years. All of our staff are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council and are currently either qualified or working towards a relevant qualification in childcare and education. 

We are open for 50 weeks of the year and only closed weekends, some public holidays and for 1 in-service training day each year. 

We understand that every family has different requirements and so we offer tailored care packages to suit your needs. Availability allowing, you can choose from:

Age 4 months to 2 years 

• Full-time care Monday to Friday 8.45am-5.15pm
• Morning Sessions offered Monday to Friday 8.45am-1pm
• Afternoon Sessions offered Monday to Friday 1pm-5.15pm

Age 2 to 5 years

• Full-time care Monday to Friday 8am-6pm
• Morning Sessions offered Monday to Friday 8am-1pm
• Afternoon Sessions offered Monday to Friday 1pm-6pm 

You can choose the number and type of sessions that you require to suit your needs. Prices will depend on your requirements and where you live (to qualify for a subsidised rate you must live in a defined area of North Edinburgh).
