When are you open?

North Edinburgh Childcare is open 50 weeks of the year Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.00am – 6.00pm. Out of School Care is available from school bell time until 5.45 or 6.00pm depending on which school your child attends.

Are your staff qualified?

We provide a high standard of childcare and understand the importance of staff training and qualifications. 80% of our Pre-School staff are fully qualified.  Those who are not yet qualified are working towards a relevant childcare qualification.  All of our Out of School Care workers either possess or are working towards an SVQ in Playwork.  All of our childcare managers hold a relevant childcare qualification as a minimum.

What will my child do all day?

Full programmes of age appropriate activities are provided so that your child’s day will be busy, well structured and fun.  Whether in pre-school or out of school care your child will have opportunities to take part in a wide range of stimulating activities such as arts and crafts, sand and water, sports, games and outings.  Programmes are based on the children’s interests and are educational as well as fun.

Do you provide pre-school education?

North Edinburgh Childcare is a Partner Provider with the City of Edinburgh Council’s Education Department.  This means that we provide pre-school education for children aged 3-5 years.  An Early Years Specialist is employed through the Education Department to support staff in the delivery of a high quality educational programme based on the 3-5 Curriculum.   Our pre-school team have consistently received the highest possible level of award from the Education Department during their annual audits.

Where does Out of School Care take place?

Currently we have 7 Out of School Clubs based in the following local primary schools Pirniehall/St Davids, Forthview, Ferryhill, Davidson Mains, Royston, Craigroyston and the Fort.  Each club has its own designated area or specific classroom within the school.
