FINANCE  ASSISTANT

MINIMUM  6  MONTH  FIXED  TERM  MATERNITY  COVER

(With the possibility of becoming permanent)

Full Time - 35.75hours/week (Monday to Friday shifts between 8am and 6pm)

Salary Scale - 13-18 (£17,284.29-£19,193.12)

We require a motivated enthusiastic individual to fill this post.  Applicants will have experience of SAGE Line 50, Xero or other cloud based accounting software, book-keeping and will be computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  The post requires the applicant to be proficient and confident with credit control and debt recovery, maintain both paper-based and computerised financial and service user records.  The successful candidate will have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload and assist the Finance & Business Manager in ensuring the smooth running of all charity administrative and financial systems.

ROOM LEADER

Victoria Quay Nursery, Edinburgh, EH6

40 hours/week (Monday-Friday, hours between 7:30am-6:30pm) £18,747.363/annum

The successful applicant will work as part of a team delivering a high quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-5 years within a workplace nursery setting.  Successful applicants will have knowledge of Pre-Birth to 3 Guidance and/or the early level of the Curriculum for Excellence, experiance of working with 0-5 year olds and the abilty to work as part of a team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high quality learning opportunities.  Applicants must hold a relevant childcare qualification, e.g. HNC in Childcare and Education; NNEB; SVQ Levle 3 in Childcare Learning and Development or equivalent.

NURSERY PRACTITIONER

20 hours/week (Monday-Friday, hours between 7:30am-6:30pm) £8,788.00/annum

Forthcoming changes to the layout of our workplace nursery at Victoria Quay have led to a vacancy for a new part time post.  A part time Practitioner is now required to join our team in the delivery of a high quality early learning and childcare setting for children aged 0-5 years.  Successful applicants will have knowledge of key guidance and best practice documents relating to early years, experiance of working in an early years setting and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high quality early learning and childcare service.  Applicants must hold or be working towards a relevant qualification, e.g. HNC in Childcare and Education; NNEB; SVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development or equivalent.

CHILDCARE PRACTITIONER

BALERNO OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB

Part Time:- 22 hours/week with the opportunity for full time hours during some school holidays and In-Service Days.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to deliver a high quality out of school care service for children attending Dean Park Parimary School and S1/S2 pupils from Balerno High School.  Applicants must have experiance working with children aged 5-12 years in an out of school setting and hold a relevant childcare qualification, e.g. HNC in Childcare and Education, NNEB; SQV Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.

CHILDCARE SESSIONAL WORKERS

The rate of pay for these posts is the National Minimum Wage hourly rate for the relevant age group plus holiday pay.

Sessional Workers are required to assist in the effective and efficient delivery of the organisation's childcare services.  Settings include two full care nurseries and seven out of school clubs in North Edinburgh and Balerno.  Specific hours are not guaranteed and vary from short sessions to full time dependant on the needs of the organisation.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS - VOLUNTEER MEMBERSHIP

North Edinburgh Childcare is looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors.  If you live or work within the EH4 postcode and would like to support a local community charity that delivers high quality childcare and training then please contact Theresa Allison for more information.

Commitment is 6 Board Meetings, 1 AGM, and 1 Strategic Development Day per annum.

The post is non-remunerated,  However, all reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
