When are you open?

North Edinburgh Childcare is open 50 weeks of the year Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.00am – 6.00pm. Out of School Care is available from school bell time until 5.45 or 6.00pm depending on which school your child attends.

Are your staff qualified?

We provide a high standard of childcare and understand the importance of staff training and qualifications. Over 90% of staff working in our childcare services are fully qualified in line with current SSSC requirements.  All of our childcare managers hold a relevant childcare qualification as a minimum and have also either achieved or are working towards higher level qualifications in line with Scottish Social Services Council requirements.  Those who are not yet qualified are working towards a relevant childcare qualification.

What will my child do all day?

Full programmes of age appropriate activities are provided so that your child’s day will be busy, well structured and fun.  Whether in nursery or out of school care your child will have opportunities to take part in a wide range of stimulating activities such as arts and crafts, sand and water, sports, games and outings.  Programmes are based on the children’s interests and are educational as well as fun.

Do you provide pre-school education?

North Edinburgh Childcare is a Partner Provider with the City of Edinburgh Council’s Education Department.  This means that we provide pre-school education for children aged 3-5 years.  A Quality Improvement Officer from the City Of Edinburgh Council supports staff in the delivery of high quality learning experiences based on the Curriculum for Excellence.  Our pre-school team consistently achieve high levels of award during regulatory inspections and audits.

Each club has its own designated area or specific classroom within the school.
